American Whippet Club Futurity Bitch Nomination Form
The American Whippet Club Futurity is an annual event that is held yearly during the AWC National Specialty Show. The Futurity is a breeder's "showcase" and is a predictor of the future of the breed.
Entering a puppy into the Futurity is a three-step process:
1. Bitch Nomination - $20.00
2. Litter Nomination - $25.00
3. Individual Puppy Nomination (entry into the actual Futurity classes)
Fees are paid for each nomination and these fees are then divided to provide prize money for the winners of the Futurity classes.
All nominated bitches and stud dogs must have a current CERF number, at the time of the initial Bitch Nomination, for the Nomination to be accepted.
Bitches must be nominated between the time they are bred and the time their litter is whelped, and the nominations must be so postmarked.
Litters must be nominated before reaching 3 months of age, and the nomination must be so postmarked.
Nominations must be made on official blanks and entry fees paid in US funds only.
The Futurity Judge is nominated by secret ballot of AWC members who have nominated bitches for the Futurity. While no points are received for winning Best in Futurity, it is indeed an honor to win and receive recognition for a breeding program.
