In addition to owning a great number of different breeds, he has bred and shown Poodles, Pekingese, Brussels Griffons, Dobermans, English Setters, Greyhounds and Whippets to top wins in Canada and the United States .
A whippet of his breeding, Can/Am & Br. Ch. Lorricbrook Winning Streak has set a record of best in shows for the breed in Brazil, and a Whippet of his breeding won the Hound Group at the Windsor Championship Show in England. The dog’s name is Can/Am/Eng/
Dutch/German & Int. Ch. Lorricbrook Runaway, who is the only Whippet from North America to win its English title. “Pip” then went on to win Best of Breed at the World show in 1992. As well, he is the breeder of the top winning Greyhound of all time in Canada, Can/Am & Ber. Ch. Lorricbrook Sporting Chance and was the owner of Canada’s all-time top winning Whippet, Can/ Am Ch. Dondelayo Buccaneer.
Max has been a breeder/owner of some top toy dogs, as well, with his Am/ Can/Bda Ch. Mr. Chips of Alderbourne being Top Toy in 1975 and a bitch of his breeding is the top producing dam in the United States for the last two years. He is also breeder/owner of some top winning Brussels Griffons, and his Am/Can Ch. Lorricbrook Heavy Duty was Best of Winners at the 50 th anniversary specialty of the Brussels Griffon Club of America in 1995, as well as having bred and won best in show at the Pekingese Club of America’s national specialty.
Judging since 1978 and now an all breed judge, he annually has a busy schedule in Canada and the United States and his judging experience abroad has led him to adjudicate dogs around the world from China to Sweden, Australia, New Zealand, throughout South American, Israel, Russia, Finland, and points in –between. He has judged Whippets three times in England, including the prestigious Hound Show, and has judged at Skokloster in Sweden, as well.
Last year he was presented with a Lifetime Achievement Award by the Professional Handlers Association of Canada in recognition of his many years of service and dedication to the sport of dogs.
Breeder Judge
Cora Miller

Born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia , my brother and I followed our Father’s interests in competition horses and dogs. My brother became a working breed judge as well as a Great Dane breeder. I showed for other people for a few years- mostly Doberman Pinchers, Afghan Hounds and Whippets for my friend Larry Shaw (Kirklea Kennels). Larry’s
vision and my vision of the perfect Whippet might have differed a bit but he certainly convinced me to stay with the breed and try to bring the picture in my mind into the whelping box.
I moved to New England in the late sixties for its many dog shows, a lively cultural life and its great beauty. My husband and I met and married here and though we traveled widely and found many beautiful pasts of this world nothing tempted us to move from Western Massachusetts or to change our breed of dog from Whippets to anything else.
Hound Hill has been a believer in the multi-purpose Whippet from its beginnings. We have watched with pleasure as fronts, balance and temperaments have improved right across the country. The National, with its multiplicity of events is a fitting tribute to all our diligent and inspired breeders.
Good luck to all, Cora Miller

Debbie Davenport
I have always considered myself fortunate to have been born into a “dog loving family”. My grandmother and my aunt are retired dog groomers. My mother, my sister and myself continue the profession today with two well established shops between us.
During my childhood, my mother bred, raised and showed poodles, mostly Standards, in conformation and obedience. I competed in junior showmanship and obedience and at age 11 earned a CD title on one of our Standard Poodles.
After years of slaving over poodle show coats, my mother decided she needed a “wipe and go” breed. In 1981 she purchased our first whippet from Barbara Pendergrass (Rafina). Miss Ellie didn’t mature into the “show girl” we had hoped for so Barbara gave us another puppy. She became Ch. Rafina Rhapsody Of Kamada, our foundation bitch.
To date, my mother and I have bred close to 50 conformation champions and several performance event title holders. I have bred and/or handled Best in Show and top winning whippets in the U.S. and Canada. I was an all-breed professional handler up until my mother was granted her AKC judges license.
CONGRATULATIONS and GOOD LUCK to all the Top Twenty participants tonight!
Kathy Davenport
I’ve been an animal lover since early childhood and have owned everything from hampsters to horses at one time or another. My mother bought our first poodle in 1952 and it wasn’t too long before we had a houseful of poodles. At the age of ten, I began competing in obedience and conformation. I assisted my mother in her grooming business and this became my lifetime profession.
Many, many years later, I was at a show, grooming away on my Standard Poodle. Looking at a sleek group of whippets set up next to me, I thought to myself, “ if I had half a brain, I’d have one of those”! Little did I know how much that brief thought would change my life.
My daughter, Debbie, and I have owned and raised whippets since 1981 under the Kamada prefix. I was granted my AKC judges license in 2000 and I am currently approved to judge whippets, dalmatians, poodles and junior showmanship.
I have enjoyed watching my own whippets in the Top Twenty Event many times. Tonight, I look forward to watching the competition from inside the ring. Congratulations and Good Luck to you all!

Jackie Hubble
I have always been a dog lover and have been “in dogs” since 1969. After watching whippets for several years I decided that they were the breed for me. In 1982 I acquired what was to be my foundation bitch, Ch. Tripletime’s Rudely Elegant “Fallon” from Randy Tincher. Fallon was bred to Ch. Saxon Shores Amber Waves, producing Ch.
Sage Uptown Girl and Ch. Sage Outrageous Fortune “Bert”. While attending the AWC National in Palo Alto in 1990 I saw the outstanding Ch. Chelsea Drakkar of Oxford “Drake” and knew that I wanted to breed to him. In 1991 we bred Bert to Drake and I kept what was probably my favorite bitch ever, Sage Simply Outrageous “Sadie” out of that litter. Sadie was only shown a few times due to other priorities in my life and in 1997 she was bred to the then very young Ch. Chelsea Gold Rush of Keynote “Rush” producing his first litter. This litter included Ch. Sage Outrageous in Red, BIS SBIS Ch. Chelsea Dangerous Beauty “Emma” and BIS SBIS Ch. Chelsea Made You Look of Sage, ROMX “ Redford”. Emma was number one in Breed competition in 2000 and the 2001 Top 20 Winner. Redford was number one in All-Breed competition in 2000 and 2001 and the 2002 Top 20 Winner.
In January 2005 I was pleased to retire with over 32 years in Civil Service and I am now happy to stay at home spoiling my dogs. My husband retired from the Air Force last January, and it is nice to finally stop moving around and be settled in one place.
It is an honor to steward this year’s Top 20 event, and I wish all the breeders, owner and handlers of these beautiful dogs the best of luck in this showcase of our wonderful breed.
Official Standard for the Whippet
General Appearance – A medium size sighthound giving the appearance of elegance and fitness, denoting great speed, power and balance without coarseness. A true sporting hound that covers a maximum of distance with a minimum of lost motion. Should convey an impression of beautifully balanced muscular power and strength, combined with great elegance and grace of outline. Symmetry of outline, muscular development and powerful gait are the main considerations; the dog being built for speed and work, all forms of exaggeration should be avoided.
Size, Proportion, Substance – Ideal height for dogs, 19 to 22 inches; for bitches, 18 to 21 inches, measured at the highest point of the withers. More than one-half inch above or below the stated limits will disqualify. Length from forechest to buttocks equal to or slightly greater than height at the withers. Moderate bone throughout.
Head – Keen intelligent alert expression. Eyes large and dark. Both eyes must be of the same color. Yellow or light eyes should be strictly penalized. Blue or wall eyes shall disqualify. Fully pigmented eyelids are desirable. Rose ears, small, fine in texture; in repose, thrown back and folded along neck. Fold should be maintained when at attention. Erect ears should be severely penalized. Skull long and lean, fairly wide between the ears, scarcely perceptible stop. Muzzle should be long and powerful, denoting great strength of bite, without coarseness. Lack of underjaw should be strictly penalized. Nose entirely black. Teeth of upper jaw should fit closely over teeth of lower jaw creating a scissors bite. Teeth should be white and strong. Undershot shall disqualify. Overshot one-quarter inch or more shall disqualify.
Neck, Topline, Body – Neck long, clean and muscular, well arched with no suggestion of throatiness, widening gracefully into the top of the shoulder. A short thick neck, or a ewe neck, should be penalized. The back is broad, firm and well muscled, having length over the loin. The backline runs smoothly from the withers with a graceful natural arch, not too accentuated, beginning over the loin and carrying through over the croup; the arch is continuous without flatness. A dip behind the shoulder blades, wheelback, flat back, or a steep or flat croup should be penalized. Brisket very deep, reaching as nearly as possible to the point of the elbow. Ribs well sprung but with no suggestion of barrel shape. The space between the forelegs is filled in so that there is no appearance of a hollow between them. There is a definite tuckup of the underline. The tail long and tapering, reaching to the hipbone when drawn through between the hind legs. When the dog is in motion, the tail is carried low with only a gentle upward curve; tail should not be carried higher than top of back.
Forequarters – Shoulder blade long, well laid back, with flat muscles, allowing for moderate space between shoulder blades at peak of withers. Upper arm of equal length, placed so that the elbow falls directly under the withers. The points of the elbows should point neither in nor out, but straight back. A steep shoulder, short upper arm, a heavily muscled or loaded shoulder, or a very narrow shoulder, all of which restrict low free movement, should be strictly penalized. Forelegs straight, giving appearance of strength and substance of bone. Pasterns strong, slightly bent and flexible. Bowed legs, tied-in elbows, legs lacking substance, legs set far under the body so as to create an exaggerated forechest, weak or upright pasterns should be strictly penalized. Both front and rear feet must be well formed with hard, thick pads. Feet more hare than cat, but both are acceptable. Flat, splayed or soft feet without thick hard pads should be strictly penalized. Toes should be long, close and well arched. Nails strong and naturally short or of moderate length. Dewclaws may be removed.
Hindquarters — Long and powerful. The thighs are broad and muscular, stifles well bent; muscles are long and flat and carry well down toward the hock. The hocks are well let down and close to the ground. Sickle or cow hocks should be strictly penalized.
Coat – Short, close, smooth and firm in texture. Any other coat shall be a disquali fication. Old scars and injuries, the result of work or accident, should not be allowed to prejudice the dog’s chance in the show ring.
Color – color immaterial.
Gait – Low, free moving and smooth, with reach in the forequarters and strong drive in the hind quarters. The dog has great freedom of action when viewed from the side; the forelegs move forward close to the ground to give a long, low reach; the hind legs have strong propelling power. When moving and viewed from front or rear, legs should turn neither in nor out, nor should feet cross or interfere with each other. Lack of front reach or rear drive, or a short, hackney gait with high wrist action, should be strictly penalized. Crossing in front or moving too close should be strictly penalized.
Temperament – Amiable, friendly, gentle, but capable of great intensity during sporting pursuits.
DISQUALIFICATIONS
More than one-half inch above or below stated height limits; blue or wall eyes; undershot, overshot one-quarter inch or more. Any coat other than short, close, smooth and firm in texture.

Top Twenty Event
Official Rules and Regulations
Purpose:
The Top Twenty Event has been initiated to encourage the exhibition of Whippets in the breed competition. Each event will be part of the AWC National Specialty and will serve a variety of purposes in educating judges, exhibitors, breeders and fanciers and will offer all an opportunity to view the Cream of the Crop competing together in one ring. The competition will also promote discussions of the standard which encourages the exchange of ideas and will provide a showcase for those Whippets with the most outstanding records in breed competition.
Eligibility:
Judges:
1. Three judges with no affiliation to any of the Top Twenty participants will be selected, one from each of the following categories:
B. AKC – Licensed Hound Group Judge – A licensed judge approved to judge the entire hound group.
C. Handler (past or present) – A professional handler meeting the requirements for membership in a Professional Handler’s organization (though not necessarily a member). Must have at least five year’s experience with Whippets.
2. The names of those selected to judge will be kept confidential until the day of the event.
Scoring:
1. Each judge will individually evaluate each participating Whippet. Each judge receives an official score sheet for each participant. On the official score sheet, each judge will place the participant on conformation to the standard, movement, and overall presentation. These placements are turned into their respective ring steward at the end of each participant evaluation. The ring stewards turn the score sheets over to the Top Twenty chairperson.
2. On the day of the Awards Banquet, the Auditing Committee, consisting of the Top Twenty chairperson and stewards, will tabulate and total the scores for each dog. The Top 5 choices from each judge will be placed in order, 1 st through 5 th, on official scorecards. Scoring will be as follows: 1 st place = 100 points; 2 nd place = 80 points; 3 rd place = 70 points; 4 th place = 60 points; and 5 th place = 50 points.
A. The scores for each dog from each of the three judges will be added together and divided by three to determine each dog’s average score.
B. In the event of a tie, the Auditing Committee will determine the winner by each dog’s placement on the scorecard of the “call” judge. The “call” judge will be the Breeder judge. Of the dogs involved in the tie, the dog placing highest on the “call” judge’s card will be declared the winner.
Awards:
1. The results of the event will not be announced immediately after the competition but rather will be kept confidential until the Awards Banquet.
2. At the Awards Banquet, the dog with the highest average score will be declared the winner of the Top Twenty Event.

SBIS Ch. Andauer I Can Z Clearly Now
Sex: Bitch Call Name: “Z”
Color: White & Brindle
DOB: November 1, 2003
Height: 19”
Most Memorable Win: AWC South Central Specialty Best In Show
Z began her show career at just over six months of age by going Best of Breed over Specials and on to a Group 2. That was May and by September she was finished and started her Specials career at such a young age just for fun. By the end of the year she had won Best In Show at the American Whippet Club South Central Specialty under breeder Judge Stacey Davis, a Group 1, and 6 other Group placements. In 2005 Z started her Specials career in earnest at 14 months of age. She finished the year at #8 in Breed and #9 in All Breed systems winning 3 Group 1’s and 9 other Group placements. Other memorable moments included the first Select given at the American Whippet Club Midwest Specialty and being in the final cut two of the other days.
Z is taking a break in her show career to have a litter in 2006 to be sired by BIS, SBIS, AmCan Ch. Sporting Field’s Jazz Fest SC, FCh, ROMX. Z’s dam, Zoom, qualified for the 2003, 2004, and 2005 Top Twenty competitions and we hope one of Z’s kids will keep up the tradition.
Thanks to all of you who supported Z and cheered her on!

Ch. Arlen’s That Touch of Mink JC
Sex: Bitch Call Name: “Mink”
Color: White & Brindle
DOB: July 3, 2003
Height: 19½”
Most Memorable Win: Going breed and a Group 1 st 1 st
day out as a special w/ Graham Pence Swayze at 7+ Stuben Kennel Club Aug 4, 05
I would like to start out by saying thanks to Deborah Bahm for allowing me to purchase this wonderful bitch.
Mink was the product of two very wonderful parents - Redford & Shannon. She was the 1 st dog I have ever finished. So I decided to see what she could do as a special.
She started her specials career Aug 4, 05 at the Fort Stuben show in Canfield handeled by Graham Swayze. She went on to win a Group 1 st that day and has not stopped since. In that short time she was 4 Grp 1, and seven other group placements and many BOB. She ended up 12th in points - went to the Eukanuba and Westminster.
She goes home to have a litter of puppies, lure course, do agility and obedience. Someday we will return as a versility dog.

Sex: Bitch Call Name: “Vivi”
Color: White & Brindle
DOB: April 21, 2002
Height: 19½”
Most Memorable Win: BIS at Santa Barbara KC
In May 2005 we thought it might be fun to show “Vivi” a little and try to get her into the Top Twenty. Nine show weekends later she was an All-Breed BIS winner and among the top 5 Whippets in America.
Shown a total of 16 weekends in 2005, she won 23 Breeds, 13 Group First and placements, an All-Breed BIS and a Specialty BIS. In her last 16 shows of the year, she won 15 BOB’s. Vivi ended the year as #4 Whippet in all-breed competition.
In 2006, she was BOB & Group 2 nd at Palm Springs and is the only Whippet to get an Award of Merit at both the AKC Eukanuba Invitational and Westminster Kennel Club.
Vivi was lost at JFK Airport while going home the day after Westminster and as of this writing has not yet been recovered. We are hoping her life spent running on the farm, catching and eating squirrels and rabbits, and being a very determined, independent and rugged individual will help her survive until she’s found.
We hope that the tremendous media coverage will help us get her back. Our thanks to the entire Whippet community for their concern, help and kind thoughts during this very difficult time for us.

Most Memorable Win: October 2005, Los Lunas Kennel Club, Smooch was BOB and won a Group 2 on Saturday, she was also BOB on Sunday and then won the Group! Kentt, Mom and Dad and friends there to see it priceless!
Smooch’s first time in the ring she was WB/BOW for a 4 pt. major. Smooch consistently went BOB over specials and then finished her championship with her third 4 pt. major.
Smooch has 3 Award of Merit’s, two from the South Central Regional Specialty and one from the North Central Regional Specialty. Smooch is a Group winner and multiple group placer. MBIS/MBISSAm/Can Ch Eclipse Envy O’ Sportingfield
Sex: Bitch Call Name: “Zoey”
Color: Fawn & White
DOB: November 18, 2001
Height: 20¾”
Most Memorable Win: All her wins are memorable but BOB & Group 4 at the Westminster KC 2006 will be something I’ll treasure forever.
What a thrilling ride I’ve been on for the past few years. Never in my wildest dreams did I think that Zoey world do what she has accomplished. From the time she was 2 weeks old, and those gorgeous, dark, mascara eyes opened, keeping her in the whelping box was a chore. At 6 weeks of age, I “thought” I had something special in Zoey, and Debbie confirmed that notion, a few weeks later.
I thought the year 2004 was unbeatable, but the year 2005 has been a whirlwind, especially for myself. Zoey’s 12 All-Breed BIS, and 2 Specialty BIS helped to make her #1 Whippet, #3 Hound and #25 among all breeds in 2005. She is such a silly and happy Whippet, has never met a stranger, and has won many friends and admirers. She loves to show, and her sparkling personality really shines through in the ring.
I am forever grateful for the friends and acquaintances Zoey has brought me. Works cannot express my feelings for Dan, Bruno & Debbie for helping to make my dream a reality.
And my heartfelt gratitude goes out to Zoey’s best friend and handler, Amanda Giles who puts up with her silly antics, lets her sleep in her bed, and travels endless miles to show Zoey, our 2006 Westminster BOB & Group 4 Winner.
The World Belongs To Those Who Dare To Dream.

BIS Ch. Emerald’s Go Where Love Goes
Sex: Bitch Call Name: “Holly”
Color: White & Brindle
DOB: October 1, 2004
Height: 20”
Most Memorable Win: Best In Show 1-22-05 @ Oakland County Kennel Club.
Holly was my pick of the litter at four weeks of age. While there were other beautiful puppies in the litter, I kept coming back to her. She thought she was too good to play with her littermates. She would sit on the couch and watch, only interfering if they took her favorite toy. As I watched her develop, I liked her bone and substance. What I wanted most out of the breeding was soundness and movement, and that she gave me.
At 9 months of age, Holly had compiled an impressive record already. She had completed her conformation title from the Bred-By-Exhibitor class with 4 majors. She won multiple BOB’s and Group placements with her first breed win over specials at 6 months of age. At under a year of age, you don’t expect to special one so young, but she qualified for the Top Twenty in a few short months. She was eligible for the Eukanuba National Championship Show, where she brought home an Award of Excellence. The following week, Holly won an all breed Best In Show at the Oakland County Kennel Club ... a breeder’s dream come true. She is currently number 7 hound in the country. As the breeder-owner-handler of this “special” girl, it has been a thrilling year. What I like best about her is living with her. She is a loving, sweet companion, who never lets me out of her sight.
Thanks to Dianne Reimer, Karen Roberson and Gleason for all their help.
Good Luck to everyone!

Sex: Bitch Call Name: “Cheers”
Color: Fawn & White
DOB: January 19, 2004
Height: 20½”
Most Memorable Win: Back to Back Best In Shows from the BBE class! BOB AWC Support - St Croix Valley KC entry 108 in route to a Group 1!
Cheers was gangly, silly puppy and I felt it prudent to show her sparingly as a puppy to give her time to mature. After attending the national in Phoenix where she went third in her futurity class and second in her BBE class I decided she was ready to start her class career in earnest.
She came out with a BANG, winning back-to-back Best IN Shows from the BBE class at 15 months. Wow! Her next appearance in the ring garnished an AWC Support four point major to finish at the Eastern Specialty weekend.
Cheers elegance, flowing side gait, temperament and showmanship are admired and respected by many, In her short career she has won two Best IN Shows, multiple groups, is an AWC Support BOB winner, and a 2006 Top Twenty Contender. All her wins have been breeder owner-handled.
Congratulations and good luck to all the qualifiers for this years Top Twenty competition.

Sex: Bitch Call Name: “Madonna”
Color: Fawn & White
DOB: June 8, 2002
Height: 19 ¾”
Most Memorable Win:
Madonna was special from the beginning! Guided in her specials career by Co-Owner/handler, Carol Schurman of Dublin Whippet fame. Madonna’s accomplishments in the ring include multiple Hound Group wins and many other placements. Madonna, a Top Twenty Whippet in 2004 and 2005, continues her winning ways in 2006, already placing in several Hound Groups.
Madonna is a repeat breeding of Jordan and our foundation bitch, Sara, a Top 10 Whippet. The first breeding also produced a Top Twenty Whippet, as well and many champions that we are equally proud. Each and every win of Madonna’s have been exciting and we are looking forward to what the future has in store for this much loved girl. Not only is Madonna a wonderful show dog, she is also a superb family pet. We are so happy to have Carol as part of our family and have her back in the spotlight again. We all remember her in the ring with her beautiful Ch. Dublin’s Dancing Lights back some years ago and now to have her in the ring with our beautiful Madonna is certainly something to be proud of!!

Sex: Bitch Call Name: “Annabelle”
Color: Brindle & White
DOB: November 25, 2002
Height: 19½”
Most Memorable Win: 2004 National Futurity - Judge Jo Meister
Annabelle finished easily, owner handled. Her class wins include a specialty major, best in sweeps, and breed over specials. And of course, Best in Futurity! She was also owner handled to her first Group 1.
In 2005 Lori Wilson took the reins and piloted Annabelle to the #6 slot in the AWC Top Twenty. Lori and Annabelle accomplished this on a short leash, indeed.
In the ring Annabelle is a quiet (sometimes too quiet) example of Whippet beauty whose gait is “poetry in motion”. In the field she is a rabid huntress whose favorite quarry is Frisbee. We are pleased to have Annabelle here tonight among this year’s top dogs. Congratulations to you all on a wonderful 2005!
Many thanks to Charles Roberts and the entire Top Twenty committee for making this event possible.

BISS Ch. Peppertree Jomyr Illusory Ball, FCh, SC
Sex: Bitch Call Name: “Lucy”
Color: Red & White
DOB: Octoberm 12, 2001
Height: 20”
Most Memorable Win: South Central Best In Specialty Show Win under respected Breeder/Judge David Samuelson (Dashing).
A dog version of her zany red-headed namesake, Lucy was given to me as a special gift by breeder, Mary Graham, at the passing of Blush. Named as a play on words to represent a ballet, Lucille Ball and her illusion to my Blush, she is ”Illusory Ball”. I never believed in reincarnation until I lived with Lucy, a clone to Blush in personality. Her pedigree represents the combination of very successful classic American whippet bloodlines with heavy Chelsea and Karasar with a little bit of Surrey Hill. An overachiever since birth, Lucy continued to prove her versatility in many venues. For instance, she earned her ASFA FCh at 15 months while earning the Buncrana Challenge Trophy 2002. Her show title was earned just as easily by 18 months finishing with a huge 5 point major win at a specialty weekend under Cindy Scott (Brookwood) handled by Lori Wilson. After whelping a beautiful litter by a Dino son, Ch. Moongaze Tophat And Tails, FCH (puppies are already major pointed and BOB winning), 2005 took her back to the breed ring being specialed by her pal, Jody Paquette (Wenrick). Not only did she earn several group placements and a specialty 1 st Award of Merit, but also she ended Top Twenty ranked with a BISS owner/handled win under breeder/judge David Samuelson (Dashing). It was a thrilling ride for all involved with Lucy and the support from the whippet fancy was refreshing.

Most Memorable Win: Best in Specialty under Breeder Judge David Samualson
“Curio” was only shown as a special in 2005 for a few months while her sister Marnie took off to have puppies.
She thrilled us by winning a Specialty Best in Show her first few weeks out. She was ranked in the top 10 whippets, all systems with limited showing and no advertising.
Curio also won multiple sweepstakes, Puppy and bred by groups and winners at Supported entries. We knew she was special the minute she was born.
She is the most loving dog with huge black eyes always waiting to go somewhere. We are so lucky to have 2 beautiful classic girls from Wallis and Gleason.

Most Memorable Win: Winners Birch at the 2002 National, both
BOB’s @ Regional Specialty and 2006 Eukanuba wins.
“Marnie” has certainly defined “A Breeder’s Dream come true”. She started her career by winning the great honor of Winners Bitch at the 2002 AWC National Specialty from the 9-12 class. She was chosen Best in Sweeps 4 times, and won breeds and groups from the Classes. Marnie was BOB at 2 of the Regional Specialties that same year.
AT THE AGE OF 4 Marnie has been a Top Twenty whippet 4 times (3 years in the top 5). She has won 10 AWC supports, and has been rewarded AOM’s from Westminster Kennel Club, and National & Regional Specialties. She was 2006 BOB/Group 3 and the Bred BY Hound Group winner at the Eukanuba National Championship. In her last National Specialty appearance she was the only top whippet to compete in the Triathlon. This past year Marnie took on the challenge of Motherhood and was also wonderful at this task! She took off almost 4 months from showing and still came ended up the # 3 whippet in the US. What makes us so proud is all this was done Breeder, Owner Handled (who works full time), limited travel, no financial backing and little to almost no advertising in Dog show publications. Marnie’s temperament, conformation, and pedigree is priceless in our eyes and we will always be extremely grateful for being the lucky ones to have her own us!

Most Memorable Win: BOS at Eukanuba, and all his wins were memorable.
Rocco, in very limited showing, has qualified for this years Top Twenty. It is an honor which we will never forget. Rocco was outstanding from the day he arrived on the plane. I took him out of his crate, and he just came out like “LOOK AT ME FOLKS, AREN’T I SOMETHING” Rocco had to greet everyone in the airport. Rocco has an exuberant personality, and has won him many wonderful friends and admirers.
I’m forever grateful for his wonderful handler and my friend Holley Eldred, who Rocco lovers dearly and it is thrill to watch such a loving team in the ring.
We are also grateful for Snowcap Kennel, Dianne Reimer who bred such a glorious whippet and to Karen Roberson and Sharon Couzin who have always been there for us.

DOB: April 4, 2003
Height: 19 ½ ”
Most Memorable Win: There are four that were all very memorable. Winning back to back specialty WB at 12mos. of age under breeder/judges Kalen Dumke and Denise Tatro, SBIS under breeder/judge Jacky Quiros Kubat, BOS at Westminster 2005 and back to back Group 1’s the first weekend out with Barbara Wayne.
From a very early age Bette chose us. She was a delightful and willful puppy who wanted only to be with us. She was happiest just sitting in our laps. She was such a member of our family we even took her on a 2,000 mile road trip at the tender age of 3 months. She loved every minute of it. Whenever we were asked how she was developing we said that it didn’t matter, she chose us and would be staying even if as a pet!
Her career prior to finishing was very short. She won the 12 - 18 month bitch class under Espen Engh at the 2004 National Specialty. She then won back to back specialty WB under breeder udges Kalen Dumke and Denise Tatro. She had breed wins as well in route to finishing her championship.
During 2005 she was BOS at Westminster, had a SBIS under breeder judge Jacky Quiros Kubat, won back to back Gr. 1’s her first weekend out with bandler Barbara Wayne, We were thrilled to finish 2005 as the #4 whippet!

Most Memorable Win: Every win has been a thrill!
I never imagined that I would have the honor of owning such a special dog. Jada is the most wonderful of pets but also a great show dog. She never lets down and has quite a ringside fan club!
This year Jada not only attained a spot in the Top Twenty, she qualified for the Eukanuba Classic for the second year in a row. Most importantly, she also ended the year in the top five, thereby getting that coveted invite to the Westminster Kennel Club.
Jada will miss the Top Twenty this year as she has been bred to Nat’l Select Am Can Ch Jade’s Ice Dream Man of Whyme “Scoop” and will be expecting her babies at the national time. Once again it is an honor to be included with the top Whippets in the nation, and we send all the competitors in this year’s event best wishes and good luck. Color: Brindle & White
DOB: September 4, 2002 Height: 20”
Most Memorable Win: BOB and Group placement consideration at the prestigious Philadelphia Kennel Club Show under breeder judge Nev Mewton of Nevedity Whippets from the UK.
Glimmer was not from a planned litter. Blaze arrived at Whippoorwill to be bred to Ch. Whippoorwill Star Power (Jenna). As some times happens Henna decided not to come in season but her kennel mate Ch. Whippoorwill Double Trouble (Alex) did. Realizing the pedigrees were a great match Blaze was bred to Alex. We knew Glimmer was special from the moment she was born. She has been Glimmer from her first breath.
Glimmer has given us two memorable wins. The one mentioned above and while in the classes she was WB/BOW from the Bred By class at the Mid West Specialty under Breeder judge Patsy Gilmour (Dumbriton) from the U.K.
This past year has been very special for us as Glimmer has achieved this recognition, selectively shown with no ads or frequent flyer miles and always breeder owner handled by Barbara or Juanita.
Our thanks to all the judges who have recognized Glimmer’s classic breed type and movement plus all our friends and supporters.
Good luck tonight! But most of all have a wonderful evening!
