OBEDIENCE JUDGES
Mrs. Marie Huffman
Mrs. Huffman has been training and showing dogs in both conformation and obedience since 1968. She has earned titles on Golden Retrievers, Yorkshire Terriers and Brussel Griffons. Mrs. Huffman has been an AKC licensed judge since 1980. She judges all Obedience and Tracking.
Dr. William Wisecup
Dr. Wisecup is a respected canine obedience judge, trainer, handler and instructor. He states "I first became interested in judging in 1972 when I was instructing obedience classes at Southern Maryland Dog Training Club. Judging is one way I cam give back to the sport I really enjoy. Dogs were apart of our household for most of my life, but I really became serious about obedience training classes in 1975. In Alamogordom, New Mexico . I was apart of a small group of dog owners that founded the Tularosa Basin Kennel Club and began obedience classes there. I sometimes wonder if that club still exists."
Dr. Wisecup and his wife Beth currently have four Pembroke Welsh Corgis and a Border Collie. Two of the Corgis have championships and all are in some stage of competitive obedience training as is the Border Collie. Bill is the coordinator of obedience training for Catoctin Kennel Club which has grown from one basic class with four students a decade ago to a full Monday evening of puppy, basic and advanced obedience classes, conformation and junior handler training with waiting lists for all classes.
Dr. Wisecup received BS and DVM degrees at kansas State University and an MA at the University of California , Berkeley . He was in general veterinary practice, a career officer in the Air Force, and currently is president of his own biomedical consulting and conference management firm. His interests in addition to obedience judging, training and showing are travel, writing, photography, trekking and archeology. "One of my goals is to visit every major capitol in the world. I still have a few to see."
