As time goes by…
…the right moment to curtail breeding activities arrives sooner or later. It looks like we have finally reached that point. It’s been over 40 years since the first Bohem litter, and every single one has brought much joy. No puppies are planned for 2004 - then we’ll see… The past year was a good one, with seven new champions - primarily thanks to the activities of puppy owners and co-owners - as well as a new Dual Champion, a new SBIS winner, two new ROMX qualified bitches, and several exciting new puppies which we hope will carry the Bohem name along for a few years.
Above all, thanks to the puppy buyers for their enthusiasm, support and care for their dogs. A special tribute goes to Barbara Wayne, who has kept so many of the Bohem dogs in the limelight over the past few years.

We thank and praise God for another year of blessings on Upper Mountain

Ch. Upper Mountain Spirit In The Sky, SC
(BIS SBIS Am.Can.DC Sportingfield’s Jazz Fest, SC, ROM x Ch. Upper Mountain JB’s Phantom, SC)
Besides providing unconditional love and companionship as he maintains order here on Upper Mountain Farm, Eli also continues to provide us with some exciting wins in the ring, in the field, and most importantly, in the whelping box. Shown only a handful of times in 2003 by the talented Kim Tudor-Fredericks, Eli amassed enough Breed wins (and several Group placements) to qualify for the AKC Eukanuba National Championship. Since driving to California from the East Coast didn’t seem like a feasible option and since flying him cross-country in December didn’t seem any better, he decided to stay home and watch it on television instead.
We are very excited about the success of Eli’s siblings and his offspring, as you will see on the following pages. We certainly appreciate the kind comments and continued support and interest that we are receiving for our young guy from fellow breeders. Please look for Eli in the Pedigree Section later in this Annual.

Ch. Upper Mountain Amazing Grace
(BIS SBIS Am.Can.DC Sportingfield’s Jazz Fest, SC, ROM x Ch. Upper Mountain JB’s Phantom, SC)
Eli’s sister, Grace, finished her championship with style in 2003, including Breed wins from the classes. She continues to be an inspiration to us, as we plan our future breeding program. We love Grace’s breed type, her elegance, and her sweet and loving temperament and intelligence, and we look forward to breeding her in 2004. Gracie was handled to perfection to her championship by Kim Tudor-Fredericks. Thanks much, Kim!

Watch for these Eli kids in 2004 . . .
Ch. Laurel Chase
Catch My Drift, SC
(Ch. Upper Mountain Spirit In The Sky, SC
x Laurel Chase Windrift)
Eli’s daughter, Amy, is making quite a name for herself in the East. Amy is a multiple Group-placer and has several Breed wins to her credit. And if this wasn’t enough for this beautiful and sound young lady, she is also burning up the coursing fields, and she is now major-pointed toward her AKC field championship. Amy was bred by Brenda and Kourtney Murray and Kim Tudor-Fredericks and is owned and handled by Kim and her husband, Jim (LAUREL CHASE). Look for the LAUREL CHASE ad in the Annual for other information on Amy.

Ch. Speedy G
Chill Factor
(Ch. Upper Mountain Spirit In The Sky, SC
x Ch. Karasar’s Taz Mania)
Eli’s “Southern” son, Carlos, finished very quickly from the puppy classes (primarily 6-9), including Breed wins and Group placements. His Specials career is off to a tremendous start and we all have great expectations for this handsome young man. Carlos was bred and is owner-handled by Kim Gonzales (SPEEDY G). Carlos is the product of a line-breeding going back to his spectacular and prolific great-grandfather, Ch. Mimbres Gilded Grayling. “Hudson” is missed, but his many progeny are carrying on his good name and reputation. Look for more information on Carlos in the SPEEDY G ad in this Annual.

Laurel Chase on
Upper Mountain, JC
(Ch. Upper Mountain Spirit In The Sky, SC
x Laurel Chase Windrift)
Aaron is a litter brother to Amy (see previous page) and lives with his father and other family members on Upper Mountain Farm. Full of life and always ready for an adventure, Aaron has done well both in the ring and on the field. He has several Hound Group-Puppy placements to his name (including two Group One-Puppy awards) and has also placed in the adult Hound Group ring. He just received his Junior Courser title and will be competing in coursing trials while maturing and finishing his bench championship in 2004. Aaron was bred by Brenda and Kourtney Murray and Kim Tudor-Fredericks and is owned by Jeff Winton, Jim Modica and Kim Tudor-Fredericks. Kim and husband Jim are also his very capable (and patient) handlers!
