Mooney is one of twelve in his litter. He started his career in an auspicious way, by winning the Breed over specials at his first show and a Group 2 in a very strong Hound Group. The next day he was beat by his sister who won a Group 3. He has several siblings who have done very well, including Ch. Mimbres Kit Kat at Debmar and Ch. Mimbres Evangeline, FCh.

2003 was another successful year for the Continental Whippet Alliance with 30 race meets conducted in the United States and Canada. The ninth annual CWA Fun Match was held in Milwaukee, Wisconsin the day before the inaugu ral CWA National with Bobbi Mason judging a total entry of 52 dogs. The membership application for the Tri-State Sighthound Club of Pennsylvania was approved in 2003 and its members will conduct their first CWA events in 2004.There are now over 725 whippets registered in the CWA.
The inaugural CWA National, sponsored by the Badgerland Whippet Association, was held on August 16, 2003 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and drew a CWA record of 62 adult starters. In 2004, the second CWA National and the 10th Annual CWA Fun Match will be hosted by the Racing for Fun Group, British Columbia, Canada.
The new CWA title, Dual Purpose Champion Excellent (DPCX) was approved January 1,2003. The existing DPC title remains in effect.The new DPCX title requires the ARX title in addition to a conformation title. Dogs qualifying for the DPCX were awarded the new title retroactive to 1991. Earning top CWA racing honors for 2003 was Coalby of Wyndsor,TRP, ARX, SRA. The top scoring Whippet in 2003 CWA Conformation Competition was Ch Sportingfield's Tori of Fermanagh, TRP. Best in Match at the 9th Annual CWA Fun Match was Am Can Int Ch Surrey Hill's Sanibel Sand, LCM.

They say a picture is worth a thousand words, but you should see this one MOVE! Trey* is our handsome youngster who hit the ground running at his first show. He was fourth in his Futurity class at the 2003 National and, at 10 months young, was Winners dog and Best of Opposite Sex at the Greater Chicago Whippet Club in Wheaton, Illinois, under hound judge Jan Reital. Taking some time off to grow up, we anxiously anticipate him finishing his championship in 2004.
We’d like to thank the judges who have recognized Trey’s tremendous whippet qualities, as well as fellow exhibitors and breeders who have commented on him so nicely. Major thanks to Jo Meister and Susan Vernon for making this all come together!
