| Elysian Whippets now consists of 21 dogs at home. Most are 13 years old or older. We’ve raised nothing here since 1996; all here have been co-bred, whelped and raised by the co-breeder.
Ch. Elysian Diamond Rio is here, along with Ch. Elysian Charm the Stars. Ch. Elysian Nobody’s Fool is with Diane Burns in Athens, Georgia and Ch. Elysian Evian is with Andrew Pense in Columbia, Kentucky. These stud dogs are available by private treaty. Our multi-Group winning Ch. Elysian Needless To Say, the top winning black bitch in the history of the breed, will soon be retired and will be bred to Ch. Elysian Charm the Stars, if her co-owners, Cora Miller and Carol Cox, still agree. My good friend in Pennsylvania, Brenda Smith of Springhill Whippets, who, in 2002, was invaded by an unlicensed and untrained “humane officer” and accused of inappropriate care of our dogs there, has been completely cleared of all charges after a thorough investigation. The “officer” was proven wrong on every count and all charges were thrown out of court. I have co-bred several champions with Ms. Smith over the years. She has always taken beautiful care of our dogs and this has been a terrible, hurtful, and unfair experience for a dedicated and successful whippet breeder. The whippets here at home receive excellent day-to-day care from kennel manager David Hatcher and wonderful veterinary care from the compassionate vets at Winder Animal Hospital. All is well at Elysian.

Georgia came into our lives at 4 years old and, despite a maiming kennel accident, finished her AKC championship in just 7 shows.
Although she was never able to give us puppies with which to carry on her beauty and movement, she gave us much more.
Georgia tolerated Barbara, adored Ray and son Bob, and was a faithful companion and friend to her sire, Chip - the only other dog she would allow near her.
She left us much too soon and we suspect she missed Chip more than we knew.
She and Chip now lie side by side in the yard they once roamed together. Sleep well, Dear Friend.
