Windwalker Born in the USA, CD, ORC, WRChX

2003 found “Haley”, Lyth Lecombe, taking home all the the goodies from the WRA National Race Meet, held October 12th in Moreland Hills Ohio. Haley becomes only the second bitch to win this prestigious meet.

2003 is the year that we’ve officially severed the last tie with the NPR program. We officially retired the Iams Trophy, which had been presented to the NPR National meet winner since 1988 and the WRA National Meet Winner since 1996. The NEW trophy will be known as the “Tutty Sue Memorial Trophy” in honor of Kenro’s She’s Tuff Too WRChX-II, SRCh, ORC, who won the first two WRA National meets and was tragically lost this year to cancer.

WRA congratulates all the dogs that ran with us this year
and thanks all the owners for their continued support.

Respectfully submitted,
Judy Lowther, Secretary Treasurer
Whippet Racing Association

Lyth Lecombe, WRChX-II, ORC, FCh.

Haley was bred by Tony Lewis and is owned by Ginny and Amanda Cox.

Haley had a remarkable year. She finished her WRChX on 03/15/03, her WRChX-II on 09/27/03 and won the WRA National Race Meet on October 12th in Moreland Hills, OH.

Windwalker Born in the USA, CD, ORC, WRChX

Poet was bred by Mike Downey and is owned by Louise Hoelscher.

Poet finished his WRChX on October 12, 2003.

On Friday, October 10, 2003 the WRA Annual Fun Match was held as a prelude to the National Race Meet.

This year Cora Miller, of Hound Hill Whippets, judged what we think may be the largest single breed fun match ever. The total entry was 125, with 113 dogs actually showing.

As her overall Best In Match, she chose:

Can.Ch. Clearhounds Inka, Can.FChX, CR, OTR

Inka was bred by and is owned by Lynn and Shannon Cleary of Clearhound Whippets, Glen Roberson, Ontario, Canada.

WRA congratulates these dogs, their owners and breeders on their accomplishments!!!

Ch. Alcyon Law and Order

(DC Chelsea Gold Rush of Keynote x Ch. Whimsey’s Water Lily)

Brody finished with three 5-point majors at two supported entries and Best of Winners, Best of Opposite Sex and Best Bred-By at the North Central Specialty under breeder-judge Russell McFadden (pictured). Brody is currently pursuing his ASFA Field Champion title and is doing so with great gusto. (see left)

We couldn’t be more pleased with Brody’s accomplishments and we will delve into the Specials world on a limited basis this year
