After competing successfully in the puppy classes a half dozen times, Margaret Mary moved up with the big girls right after turning a year old. Her first foray into the Bred-By class resulted in the above win. Thanks to sighthound breeder-judge Ms. Nan Bodine for recognizing Margaret Mary’s elegant breed type and curvaceous outline.
Margaret Mary will be taking the next few months off while she enjoys being a puppy on the new farm.

She is a “Top Twenty” contender for 1998 and is rapidly pursuing her AKC lure coursing and LCM titles. Wallis will be shown selectively in 1999 and will be bred to Ch. Leah
In 1997 we had the joy of whelping our first litter out of our foundation bitch, Ch. Summit Heavenly. “Leah” is a Reign daughter and a Drake granddaughter. She was bred to the stylish BIS Ch. Sporting Field’s Kinsman. This combination was dynamite. We got smooth, shapely and graceful puppies. From this litter we finished our first homebred champion, co-bred, co-owned and handled by Sue Harris of Summit, Ch. Del Cielo Summit Sun King. “Harrison” is elegant and moderate with correct movement and flawless carriage, and he loves to show.
We look forward to 1999. Harrison will be specialed selectively and his first litter is due in January. His sister, Del Cielo Summit Star Shine, “Ripley”, will begin her show career. Ripley is proof that good things come in small packages. She is big bodied and very elegant and loves to perform. Watch for her to steal your heart. Mom Leah will be taking a maternity break. She will be bred to the young star, SBIS Ch. Chelsea Gold Rush of Keynote this summer.

1998 was a busy year for us. We finished a new champion, as well as whelping our first whippet litter. In March we began to show Abby where she won her first points. By June she had finished, rarely defeated. She is a keen courser as well and earned her JC. Before the year ended, she whelped a beautiful litter sired by SBIS Ch. Chelsea Gold Rush of Keynote. Watch for Abby’s son “Logan”, Milestone Summit One Mand Band, to carry on the winning tradition. Like his mother, Logan is sound, big bodied and a joy to live with. Best of luck as well to all of the Rush x Abby kids as they make their debut in show rings around the country in 1999.

There were 129 entered. Lisa Costello, DVM, did the wonderful artwork for the Futurity catelog cover. The Best in Futurity winner received $842.00.
