Timely won the Senior Veteran class at the AWC National for the third time at 12 years of age, thereby retiring the beautiful trophy offered by Carol H. Willumsen in loving memory of Ch. Pennyworth Would You Believe - a 1964 Best in Show trophy won by EngAmCh. Courtney Fleetfoot of Pennyworth. We at Whippoorwill will be truly honored to display this meaningful trophy.
Timely has passed his wonderful temperament
and soundness to his offspring, several of which
have become champions in 1994.

Not the most correct, but the very best.
A show dog who thought he was the best and acted that way.
Always the top dog, but kind,
even though ears no longer heard and eyes were dim.
How can we measure the love you gave, from the first romp in the great outdoors, through the great chase when the bunnies appeared, to the sleeping in the sun and only dreaming of what might have been.
I will have many more Whippets, but never one I loved more dearly or cherished as much as BIS Ch. Whippoorwill Tanzanite.

“Schmoe” was a very special friend of mine. She did more to enlighten people about the wonder of whippets than any dog I have ever known.
She is responsiIble for my wonderful husband’s love of my dogs and, even to the very end, with a sick heart, she lived with dignity and pride. She rests peacefully under an old apple tree, nestled in the woods behind our house.
We unfortunately lost another whippet this year, Ch. Merci Isle Zephyr died of a tumor on his mesintary. He was only five years old.
Ch. Merci Isle Meridian broke his hock while coursing in the yard, and Merci Isle Endless Summer broke her neck when she did a cartwheel chasing after “Zoom”. both have recovered nicely, thank you.

Our lovely “Zoom’’ daughter was RWB at the AWC Midwest Specialty. She was also BOW under Max Madger and Denis Grivas. She is a fierce competitor on the field (sometimes too much so!) and exemplifies all things we feel are important in the breed. We are glad when our peers agree with us!

Our gorgeous fawn bitch closes in on her LCM and her AKC field title, with two 5 point majors, and needs just 3 singles to finish. We plan to breed ‘‘Cardhu” in 1995. We expect beautiful dual purpose whippets who will carry on our tradition.
