(Ch. Slade's Dixieland Dandi Duke, ARM x Marial's Nekoosa) Our sound and curvy Marial Palmeridge Pepperdine is a full sister (from a repeat breeding) to Ch. Marial's Palmeridge Brandeis, winner of the ARM/ASFA bitch class at the 1991 National Specialty. Keen on the lure, "Pepper" has reserve wins in the show ring from sighthound specialtists. "Pepper" was bred by Lou Ann Almquist and Mary Beth Arthur.
( Ch. Marial's Whitewater, CD, ARM, ORC x Colby of Wyndsor, ARM) Marial's Hotwater of Wyndsor spent the past summer and fall learning straight track racing and show manners. With his impressive pedigree, we felt "Calvin" could be the dog that does it all for us on the track. "Calvin" was bred by Vincent and Jean Balint and is co-owned with Mary Beth Arthur. December 25, 1975 - February 1, 1991 DAM OF - Ch. Bitterblue's Prairie Fire, CD, LCM Ch. Bitterblue's Bird of Fire, LCM, Can.F.Ch. This is a complete list of ALL Phoenix's children. We all miss you Phoenix.
FROM LEFT TO RIGHT - CH. BITTERBLUE'S RAYBAR PEYOTE, CD, F.CH., SC "OATIE" finished with four majors and two group placements. He is half way to his LCM and AKC and Canadian Field Championships. He is two years old. CH. BITTERBLUE'S LOCO WEED, CD, LCM, SC "WILBUR" made us very proud by winning a Select ribbon at this year's National (his second Select). He is four years old and is about half way to his AKC Field Championship. A consistent producer of dual purpose get, all of his '91 Champions are also Field Champions or pointed in the field. CH. AWES N RAYBAR'S TUMBLEWEED, CD, LCM, CAN.F.CH, SC "WEMBLEY" is six years old and has come out of semi-retirement to compete for his AKC Field Championship, which he has several points towards. CH. BITTERBLUE'S PRAIRIE FIRE, CD, LCM At twelve years of age, "TOUCAN" is still a very active, vital dog. We know he, too, could have completed his S.C., but for his safety and our peace of mind, he never got the chance! He still remains one of the all- time top producers of dual titled whippets.
( Carbeth Rockafeller Plaza x Ch. Bitterblue's Tupelo Honey) "Baldrick" is pictured at 7 1/2 months, going Best of Opposite over specials from the Puppy Class under judge Doris Wear for a four point major. He is a keen, enthusiastic runner and will make his debut in the field next spring.
(Ch. Delacreme De La Renta x Ch. Saxon Shore Flash Dance) 'MAXINE' displays lovely elegance and balance without extremes, maintaining absolute 'classic' whippet type. Though shown very limitedly in 1991, she topped the Hound Group three times, won numerous other placements and 11 Best of Breeds. She will be bred for a carefully planned spring litter. REQUIREMENTS TO QUALIFY At the 1991 Annual meeting, it was ruled, due to the disproportionate number of brood bitches which qualify for the ROM title, to increase the requirement from 5 to 7 qualifying titles for their offspring. Other categories remain as before, with the addition that CDX obedience and LCM lure coursing titles also qualify. CURRENT REQUIREMENTS: The American Whippet Club will include outstanding sires and dams in its Register of Merit when the following requirements have been met: REGISTER OF MERIT * - for any Whippet sire whose offspring have earned a minimum of 15 AKC champion, ARM, CDX and/or LCM titles, and for any Whippet dam whose offspring have earned at least 7 of these titles. REGISTER OF MERIT EXCELLENT * - for any Whippet sire whose offspring have earned a minimum of 25 AKC champion, ARM, CDX and/or LCM titles, and for any Whippet dam whose offspring have earned at least 10 of these titles. * The ROM awards are not automatic, but are granted by application. The application need not come from the owner of the dog. Application forms are available from ROM Director Bo Bengtson, P.O. Box 30430, Santa Barbara, CA 93130. Certificates awarded before March 15, 1992 will be awarded at the 1992 National Specialty.

(SBIS Ch. Chelsea Drakkar of Oxford x Ch. Chelsea Coriander Windborn) We don't have many male puppies at Jocora - only four out of the 21 puppies we've had in three litters -but we are very pleased with those few. Ch. Jocora On The Road Again, the only male in our first litter, enjoyed a modestly successful specials career in 1990-91. "DJ" (above) was one of two males in the second litter. He earned both his majors before he was seven months old. Our most recent litter again has only one male in it. This litter was sired by the late, great, Ch. Hamrya's Lucky Charm and is out of our lovely Ch. Idolor Chelsea Heartfelt ("Lisa"). Watch for these two boys in '92!
