These littermates repeated their 1986 performance in 1987 by finishing #1 and #2 in lure coursing in the United States. Fullerton has also attained his Championship in the breed ring and is now working toward his C.D. Sligo is pointed in the breed ring. Both are always owner-handled.

AWC Midwest Specialty The A.W.C. Midwest Specialty has become one of the most eagerly anticipated events of the year. It is a weekend filled with terrific hospitality and friendly competition. From the 3 month olds in the Futurity to the Veterans in the Specialty, the weekends' entry represents a cross-section of whippets throughout the U.S., therefore the quality is always very high. This year was no exception. Best in Futurity under judge Mrs. Elisabeth Fell (Badgewood) went to the brindle bitch, Wolfram Appraxin Bengala, bred by Carol L. Greene, and owned by Calvin Perry. Best of Breed at the Specialty under Mrs. Joan Frailey (Terrace Hill) was Ch. Allerei's Ain't Misbehavin', bred by the Simonsens and owned by the Bowers' Surrey Hill Kennels. Best of Opposite Sex went to Parker entry Ch. BoBett's Wild Waylon, and Winners Dog was Anne Taylor's Anndra's Measure for Measure. Winners Bitch under judge Thomas Partis, and also Best of Winners, was Morshor's Majestic Ball O'Fire. Best in Sweepstakes was Surrey Hill's Modern Times, also owned by the Bowers, and judged this day by Ms. Dee Berger of Unicorn Kennels. In 1988, the Futurity judge will be Mr. Norman Ellis (Madcap Kennels). At the Specialty, bitches will be judged by Mrs. Nadine Johnson (Rising Star Whippets and Borzoi), while dogs and intersex competition will be judged by the well-known former all-breed handler Mr. Michael Dougherty. Our Sweepstakes judge will be Dr. James R. Gray, Elysian Whippets. The whippet judge for the Agathon K.C. show in 1988 will be Mr. Richard Reynolds (Roving Whippets) for all classes. At Ravenna we hope to have Mrs. Grace Brewin judging dogs, and Mrs. Lee Canalizo judging bitches and intersex. Sweepstakes will be judged by Ms. Christy Nelson (Runners'). At the time of this writing, all of the above judges are pending AKC confirmation, of course. We are looking forward to another tremendous entry and a full weekend of friendship and fun. Join us! Tootsie earned her title in June 1987, three weeks shy of her second birthday, with 5 BOB's (over multiple Group and BIS winning whippets) and two Group placements. Testing the waters as a special for the last half of 1987, Tootsie amassed a dozen BOB wins, two Group 2's, one Group 3 and one Group 4. Encouraged, we will actively campaign her in 1988.
Co-bred and co-owned with James & Cathy Gaidos, "Berry" was BOW at Santa Barbara for a 5 pt. major.
Co-owned with Mary Beth Arthur, "Antsy" was BOB over 5 Specials for a 4 pt. major.
