Torch
Dual Champion Merci Isle Light the Way, FCh.
(Ch. Sporting Field’N Erin Pianoman x Ch. Merci Isle Sallie Forth, SC)
Remains in the TOP 20, with only a couple of appearances at large entry, important shows, under breeder-judges … like Ray Parsons, who gave him the Breed at the AWC supported show the day after the EASTERN SPECIALTY (where his son was BOW for 5 points!) … and Dr. John Shelton, who awarded him a select at the huge entry of the AWC Midwest Specialty.
Watch for his puppies with Karen Gibson, Andauer whippets, Tulsa, Oklahoma.

The Northern California Whippet Fanciers celebrated it's 37 year with a myriad of events focusing on all aspects of our favorite breed. We sponsored our 7th annual Specialty show and Obedience trial in October replete with last minute minute judging changes and excitement. In the end it turned out to be a smooth showcase for a wonderful entry of beautiful and smart whippets. On the running front, our club held five racing weekends, two NOTRA/NAWRA, and three CWA, all at the lovely Windy Glen farm. A group of us got together and "supported" the entry at the Golden Gate benched show which was great fun (although exhausting!), and many of our members enjoyed our agility seminar and 'Whippet Pleasure Faire' over the summer. For 2002, we hope to continue in our tradition of well-run and friendly conformation, racing, coursing, and fun events. Please log on to our webslte for our complete 2002 calendar. Be sure to mark October 19 2002 on your calendar the date of our 8th Specialty show, to be Judged by Alan Pepper, with Dr. Dennis Sumara doing the Sweepstakes.

Update 2001
 |
In 2001, we didn’t finish any champions or running titles, and didn’t get out to many shows and races, but it was an eventful year, nonetheless. One the down side, the lovely “Demi” passed away quietly at only eight years old. We will miss her elegance and grace. On the up side, several of the younger kids did well in their few outings. “Remington”, Milescross Elandan Teen Dream (Ch. Idover Perfect Gentleman x Ch. Milescross Elandan Sonnet, JC), was WD at the NCWFA Specialty, while our new buddy “Harry”, Morlais Magical Mystery Tour (Ch. Whimsey’s On A Wing & A Prayer x Idover Spiced Tea Time), was BISweeps at the same event. The lovely “Pie”, who carries on her Aunt Demi’s legacy of beauty, smarts, and keen desire, was awarded eight points, including her first major, in the fall. |
