The Twelfth AWC Futurity was held on Tuesday, April 25, 1995 at the Thunderbird Hotel & Convention Center in Bloomington, Minnesota, where Mrs. Karen Bowers Lee judged 137 entries. Cynthia Schmidt did the beautiful drawing for the Futurity Catelog cover. A "Past Futurity and Maturity Parade" was held preceding the judging of Best in Futurity. The Best in Futurity winner received $771.00. Futurity Chairman Jo Meister would like to extend special thanks to all who helped with the 1995 Futurity.

My mom moved us to the mountains of Colorado, so she only took me to a few shows and courses in 1995, but I still won 2 B.O.B. and 2 B.O.S. and I only need a few points to get my A.S.F.A. FCh. I loved agility training, but that's on hold 'til we settle in more here.
The best part of 1995 was my six kids out of Ch. Sonsteby's This Ain't No Mirage and my future kids out of Ch. Coronation Starwind (due Feb-Mar '96). I may be in the wilds of Colorado, but I'm still available to the right ladies.

Our first home-bred champion. I am very proud of this young dog and look forward to his successful career as a special. My thanks to all the judges and breeders who have had such wonderful things to say about him. Special thanks to Sharon Sakson for all of her help and encouragement along the way.

Cowboy started his show career a little later than most. He was 51/2 when we finally began. The kids were finally out of high school, so now I could get that show dog off the sofa and see if he (and I) could do it. I started in Canada, where I knew the people were kind and friendly and I could get some pointers. I got some of the best advice at that first show, under Judge Robert Forsythe - he told me (after giving us Best of Winners) to relax and have fun and let my dog do the showing. He finished his Canadian championship in just 2 weekends. So I then started him in the states, where he finished with 3 majors at 6+ years of age. I have learned so much since that first Canadian show and now I look at him and see that breeding quality and soundness must always come first. Thank you Allerei for my boy! Thank you Debi Adams for that last 2 points! Thank you Debbie Butt for believing in him and giving us our new girl Cory! (Sporting Fields Lil Cowgirl - Ch. This litter has been very special to us. Whelped on November 10, 1994, and diagnosed with parvo five weeks later, we spent the next three weeks battling for their lives with great success, haring all survived. Four months later, Tigger, Flash and Zoey went to their first show at just six months of age. From the 6-9 puppy class, Zoey went BOB and Group I, Tigger went WD and Flash was RWD. What a debut! That was the beginning of a very fun summer, hitting the Brush. Prairie cluster, the WSCS and the WWWA specialties and afar other shows as well. We are very proud of the success of all of our sound, correct and "typy" pups, who also lore to chase frisbees and keep the squirrels up in the trees at the lake cottage. Watch for the rest of the gang in '96, including Tivio's Royal Outlaw and Tivio's Diamond edge (not pictured).

We love living with this dog and while we are proud of her accomplishments in the show ring, we feel the mark of a true winner is in the ability to produce.
