(AmCanSKC Ch. Topnotch Olympic Gold x Morshor's Keesha of Bar-Vics) Petie is shown winning Group 3 from the classes under J. Council Parker. Thank you, Mr. Parker and breed judge Jerry Watson. Three weeks later, Petie finished his championship with back-to-back wins under judges Bob-John Ellieff and J. Donald Jones. Petie is being specialed selectively and is available at stud to approved bitches. (Petie's pedigree can be found on his litter brother's page, Ch. Bar-Vic's 011ie Take Two, in the Pedigree Section of this issue.) Watch for Petie's and Tatter's Fourth of July litter, Betsy Ross, Dolly Madison, Patrick Henry, Indy and Yankee, in a ring or field near you!

The American Whippet, Club National Point Race, Annual Report, 1994 Statistical Highlights of the Year: Our numbers increased from 1993...this year we held 37 NPR's...3 more than the year before! The grand total for Whippets running this year is 1037: 982 adults and 55 puppies. And as a reminder, this was 1994, therefore no Spay/Neuter separate category!! We had three NPR's that hosted more than 40 Whippets, and the largest meet was our NPR National, April 9th, at Ft. Steilacoom Park, Steilacoom, WA; the Host Club was WRAG; we had 50 adults and 3 puppies, and the winner of the meet was Ringdove Black Adder, SRCH/ ORC, owned by Helena & Tony Tames of Canada. The next largest meet was in Delaware City, DE, hosted by the JRRWA, July 2nd, with 46 entries: 43 adults and 3 pups. Closely following is the third largest, SHOW-ME's NPR held in Gray Summit, August 28th...40 adults and 3 puppies. We had one protest for the year, 1 cancellation, and 1 foul called. Six Whippets earned their ARM Certificates and The Honor Roll for those earning the NPR/ ARM Certificates in '94 is elsewhere in this report. Nice numbers and thanks to all the Clubs for their hosting efforts! Again, the top winning Whippet for the year is Windyglen's Tuff Enuff ARM/ORC, proudly owned by Ann & Bill McMath of Graham, Texas! "Tuffy" won all his meets for the year, 12, and was injured September 17th in Oregon; it is hoped that the long winter's rest will get him up and running again in '95! The NPR Calendar for 1995 is complete, and will be included with this report. Please keep in mind that changes and additions might be made, so if there are questions, please check with the RRC or the Race Secretary. A new listing of Host Clubs and Directors has been updated, and it, too, is included. Changes and additions, if any, to each of these documents will be printed in the monthly AWC Whippet News Newsletter.
A current concern is the date of our NPR National meet, usually run in conjunction with the NPR National. This year it will not be held in conjunction with the National in Minnesota, April 30th. There will be a National NPR, with time and place to be announced. It is hoped that it will be in St. Louis on the Purina properties in the Fall. As of this date, (2/28) there will be an NPR event at the National in April;look for more details on this in the AWC Newsletter. The grading guide, which we all have enjoyed this last year will continue, and Sam Banks will again be in charge of those statistics. Keep in mind for the system to work, the Race Secretaries MUST get the results immediately to Sam so the next Race Secretary has those averages for the next NPR. It is strongly suggested that each owner keep records for his or her Whippets running in NPR!! This way, we can cross-check to make very sure our averages and grades are current and accurate! The '95 NPR season is already underway, with the first meet "out of the box" at Celina, TX, February 18th. It was a beautiful, bright sunny day, and we'll hope for more of these kinds of days at our races this year!! In closing this report for NPR, '94, I would like to leave you with this piece from a friend I met at Cape Cod this Summer.

"RAGE" is a Best of Winners at A.W.C. Supported Entry, Breed winner and A.S.F.A. pointed.
"BELLE" is a Best of Winners at A.W.C. Supported Entry, multiple B.O.B. winner and A.S.F.A. pointed.
1994... ... was an interesting year, in many ways our most successful ever. At the time of writing, Ch. Snowy Creek Best Bet of Bohem (Amber Waves x Demoiselle), who was our Christmas present to Rosemary Sutton four years ago, is #1 Whippet in the AKC breed ratings for 1994. She has won over 50 Breeds, usually shown by Andy Linton or Rosemary, and won the Award of Merit at the AWC National Specialty in April under Mrs. Joan Frailey. Our own Ch. Bohem Of Thee I Sing (Maestro x I Hear Singing) overcame her distaste for the show ring sufficiently to be among the Top Ten Whippets in the country so far 1994: at one of her few shows 1994 she won AWC supported entry BOB during the Eastern specialty weekend under Mrs. Jessie McLeod and later went on to BIS, shown by Dr. Barbara Henderson. "Betsy" is the third AKC all-breeds BIS winner from Bohem in the past five years. In addition, Ch. Bohem La Traviata (Strider x Aria)finished her title at the AWC supported entry during the Western specialty weekend, then went to Anita Backlund in Finland and won her championship there too in her only weekend out. In the same country's very international Whippet competition, Ch. Bohem Fligh Time (Drakkar x Demoiselle) ended the year as #1 Whippet male. His puppies are already winning, and a daughter, Kipin Kapin Goldilocks, has already won two Breeds over specials and a Group placement from the puppy class in the U.S., shown and co-owned by Whippoorwill. Best of all, after more than two years' wait we had puppies: two beautiful (and small, for a change — five puppies in each) litters, one by Ch. Delacreme de la Renta, ROMX x "Betsy" and one by the young Ch. Chelsea Whippoorwill Hudson x Ch. Bohem La Boheme (Strider x Aria). 1995... In the coming year we look forward to seeing the 1994 puppies in the ring. We also hope to get a puppy from La Traviata, sired by Goldilock's litter brother Kipin Kapin Goodfellow (by Flight Time). Also, Flight Time's litter sister Bohem Dream Waltz has been bred to the Crufts BIS winner Ch. Pencloe Dutch Gold in England, and we would very much like to get a puppy back to the U.S. Since we can't keep all the dogs we want, inquiries for co-ownerships are invited. Ch. Whippoorwill Bohem Aria, ROMX qualified, nearly 12 years old, with her great-grand daughter Bohem People's Choice, nearly 8 weeks old.
A KINGLY, YET BENEVOLENT WHIPPET
