THE GIRLS present our annual picture.

Although Cory spent most of 1991 enjoying her litter by Ch. ...Puppies of soundness and elegance due in late September
CH. DELACREME DE LA RENTA x RAFINA BUNNY HOP Our sincere thanks to Barbara Pendergrass and her daughters Heather and Heide. Without your loving care, Emily's success in 1991 would not have been possible.
Gabriel's career started in Canada as a puppy, finishing his title there at eleven months of age! At the same time, he competed here in the states, acquiring both majors before reaching a year of age and finishing by the age of eighteen months. He will start a special's career in 1992. His success can be attributed to his soundness in movement. Movement that many strive for. Gabriel will move out to the field in ‘92 to work on his Field Championship, too!
Cabin continues to enjoy his retirement, with an occasional straight race. Also, participating in practice runs to help train youngsters. His get continue to do well...
ONE O'CLOCK APRIL ROMANCE (Ch. Morshor's Majestic Dell x One O'Clock Flora Moon) under very limited showing is close to finishing her championship. Thank you Mr. Eugene Blake for this fine win and Jill Baum for presenting her so beautifully. Her first time out, our newest hopeful, ONE O'CLOCK MISTY ROSE, took a Match Hound Group I over adults. She's at home now growing up. Inquiries always welcome
He barks at me; he barks a lot, because he knows I'm a pushover where he's concerned. So, while the others take turns, he sleeps in the bed every night and pokes his feet in my back and steals the covers. He barks, and I open the door. he barks, and I pull on a coat. He barks, this obnoxious dog, and my will to be firm with him diminishes in direct relation to the speed with which the days pass, like a nightmare machine that I cannot seem to slow. I have filled my house with his offspring, which my logical mind admits is a poor attempt to clone him. But my heart hears his bark in his daughter's bark and sees his eyes in his sons'. It is not much, but it's something. Because after 10 years, I have come to realize I'm not a lover of this breed nearly so much as I am a lover of this impossible dog.
Our delightful Token was hardly shown this year on account of our hectic racing schedule. She has been busy campaigning the West with Quasar and Frankie Sue, winning numerous high score “C' and D' awards in straight and oval racing. We find she is a grade A” cuddler and bed warmer, making our trips just that much more fun. This busy race schedule also left little time for what she truly excels at - lure coursing. Always a contender, in limited outings she has nearly completed her LCM. Tokens twin sister, Christine, has been bred to the exciting young dog “Select” Ch. Chelsea Antipodes, F.Ch. (SBIS Ch. Chelsea Drakkar of Oxford, F.Ch. x Ch. Chelsea Take My Breath Away). As is always our goal at Wheatland, this litter should represent the optimum combination of working ability with beauty and type. Pups born January 9, inquiries invited. WHEATLAND WHIPPETS - Michael Palmer and Kim Otero, Orange, CA (714) 744-6505
Bred by Don and Sally Papin, Windyglen Frankie Sues sire Quasar, has also had a very good year. His is ranked #4 in NAWRA racing, and is top NAWRA sire. He earned his Supreme Race Championship, as did two of his kids. We are quite proud of the fact that in just four lifter (two of which are only 14 months old) he has produced: 5 STRAIGHT RACE MEET WINNERS
Next years hopefuls: out of Willoughby is puppy meet winner Wheatland Gold Strike, and W. Ajax, who won 4 and 3 RCh. points, respectively, their first time out; also the Boutelles W. Orange Crush, who started out with a MEET WIN, over the #1 and #2 ranked NPR dogs. Papins Spuds litter includes Windyglens Dusty Road, second in meet and 3 RCh. points his only outing; and Argus of Wheatland, owned by Moore/Richardson, undefeated as a puppy racer. WHEATLAND WHIPPETS - Michael Palmer and Kim Otero, Orange, CA (714) 744-6505
(ch. delacreme de la renta x ch. merci isle hot flowers, f.ch.) “Zoom” has been bred to five bitches. Merci Isle Endless Summer - Ch. Whippletrees Jai Lal Delight, CD - Ch. Hamyra's Teachers Pet - Ch. Morshors Appraxin Sheree - and Ch. Whippletree's S M Whimsey, in that order. We are excited about his ability to pass on those qualities for which we hold him so dear. Namely, temperament, movement, breed type, color and those gorgeous large dark eyes. He is at very limited stud - to bitches of responsible owners - tightly line-bred in their own right or related to him.
This was the year of the running dog' We finished three field titles, as well as two bench championships. Merci Isle Zephyr was Winners Dog at the AWC Eastern Specialty and our Best in Field winning “Toon” won Best of Winners at Agathon. Perhaps our biggest thrill was our precious “Kittre” winning Best of Opposite Sex over specials (Breed entry 125) at the gigantic Swedish Kennel Club winter show. On a sad note, we mourn the loss of two dear friends gone forever - Ch. Hamrya's Lucky Charm, F.Ch. and Merci Isle Merrywind Magic. Breeders: Doug & Ruth Broadfoot . 18915 Pheasant Lane, Tomball, Texas 77375 (Ch. Gold-Dust's Joint Venture x Ch. Gold-Dust's Satin Finish) Gold-Dust salutes Indira's sire, CH. GOLD-DUSTS JOINT VENTURE (Coach) THIS is what it's all about!!! GOLD-DUST * On lease to Mrs. Patricia Miller, Woodsmoke Kennels. Puppies expected in 1992. Also, watch for our exciting young bitch, Woodsmoke's Making A Scene (Ch. Rothbury Replica x Ch. Woodsmoke's Best Moments).
Thank you, Dave Marcus, for handling this young bitch to her Canadian Championship.
As of mid-December, Becky needs 3 singles to finish her U.S. Championship.
