Our most eagerly anticipated litter ever. By the time you read this, our lovely Lizzie, O'Bailee's Crazy Like A Fox, pictured above, will be a mother. This will be a tight line-breeding, as the Proud Father is Ch. Greyfriar Captivator, F.Ch. ("Shane" to his admirers), Lizzie's paternal grandfather. Liz is proving herself as versatile as Shane, being pointed in the show ring and needing only her placements to complete her Field Championship. For your pleasure, we are anticipating a wide variety of colors in this litter... all of them Brindle Particolor!!! There'll be Red Brindle Parti's and Blue Brindle Parti's and Fawn Brindle Parti's and Black Brindle Parti's and ... well you know the tune!! Ch. Barchet Turn It Loose was BOB at the 1987 AWC Southern Specialty under judge Clifford Thompson.
American Whippet Club FUTURITY Lightning does strike twice - this time in the form of Calvin Perry of Appraxin kennel. Mr. Perry owned and handled the 9-12 month brindle bitch, Wolfram Appraxin Bengala, who was bred by Carole Greene, to win the 1987 Futurity. Calvin and Bengala went home with smiles and trophies, but Carole took home $760.00 and an exquisite bronze whippet statue. The fourth AWC Futurity was again held on beautiful Riddlefield on August 21 in Ravenna, Ohio. The catalog and the pedigrees were encased into one volume and were well received by the breeders. The sumptuous lunch, provided entirely by the whippet breeders, was served in the clubhouse. First place in each of the ten classes won a whippet design umbrella, $50.00 and a bag of Nutro Max dog food. First through fourth in each class was awarded an AWC charm. The maturity class and the 3-5 month dog and bitch classes were again definite crowd pleasers. It is so wonderful to have Phoebe Booth of Shamasan Whippets as our official photographer, Juanita Irvin and Syl Rozny as our ring stewards, and Pat Dresser as the chief Ohio organizer. "Willie" recovered completely from a severe leg fracture as a puppy and went on to prove his mettle, first on the field and then in the ring - - a truly dual purpose whippet. He is pictured finishing his bench championship with handler and good friend, David Samuelson.

"Molly" is shown winning a three point major from the puppy class. She comes from our first litter, co-bred with Dr. Gray. Her littermate TN Woods' Hop To It (PA) is also pointed.
