The "big switch" is on ... we made it in 1966. From 1954 until 1966 we had concentrated on breeding and exhibiting Working breeds. AND then, we discovered the WHIPPET! We are indeed fortunate that we were able to purchase the following as our beginners in this wonderful breed. Not only have they proven themselves to be outstanding winners, but they are now producing:

Temperament + Soundness + Type = QUALITY

CH. STONEY MEADOWS ROYAL FORTUNE

CH STONEY MEADOWS FROSTY QUEEN

CH HOLLYPARK'S HONEY DO FOR ME

TERRACE HILL'S EL CID OF SUNTAN

GREETINGS OF THE SEASON FROM THE PRUETTS

JANE, BOB, BARBIE, (AND CHAMPION MARIAL'S MINNETONKA)

AT THIS FESTIVE TIME WE WOULD LIKE TO PRESENT TO YOU OUR OWN DECEMBER BIRTHDAY GIRL, MARIAL'S BORN FREE, WHELPED DECEMBER 6, 1968, BY CHAMPION FOREST SLIM JIM CD EX CHAMPION EYLELAND PAISLEY.

YES, THE STRAUSS-ARTHURS, MARIAL KENNELS, MILWAUKEE, WISC., DID IT AGAIN - PRODUCED SUCH A FINE YOUNG BITCH THAT WE COULDN'T RESIST, AND WITH THEIR GRACIOUS CONSENT, MARIAL'S BORN FREE (MUFFIE) BECAME A MEMBER OF OUR HOUSEHOLD LAST MAY.

DUE TO FAMILY RESPONSIBILITIES, WE HAVE SHOWN BORN FREE ONLY ON A LIMITED SCHEDULE, HOWEVER, HER RECORD TO DATE INDICATES THAT SHE IS AL READY STEPPING OUT WITH THE GRACE AND STYLE OF A POTENTIAL CHAMPION. HER RECORD FOLLOWS:

In June, her first outing at 6 months of age, Born Free placed second in Puppy Hound Group at the Mansfield, Ohio fun match. In August, at 8 months of age, Born Free came out of the puppy class at Battle Creek, Mich. to take Reserve Winners Bitch under Judge Louis B. Murr. She repeated this distinction again within two weeks by coming from the puppy class at Avon, Ohio to secure Reserve Winners Bitch under Judge Doris P. Wear. In September, at 9 months of age, Born Free, showing with great "flash", came up from the Whippet Puppy Class to take top honors in the Senior Hound Group at the Toledo Kennel Club Sanction Match. (Photo taken shortly after winning Senior Hound Group.)

BORN FREE IS A RICH RED BRINDLE WITH BLACK MASK. SHE IS BEING TRAINED FOR TRACK AND SHOW AND WILL START OBEDIENCE TRAINING IN JANUARY 1970, GOOD LUCK TO YOU, "MUFFIE", YOU HAVE ALREADY EARNED YOUR PLACE ON THE SOFA NEXT TO YOUR ROMPING PAL, CH. MARIAL's MINNETONKA, AND LIKE "MINNIE", WILL SEEK YOUR CHAMPIONSHIP EXCLUSIVELY OWNER-HANDLED.

"Bandit" to his friends, finished for his title at one year, at Flemington, N.J. under Judge Raymond Beale, with 3 majors and was BEST OPPOSITE SEX twice from the classes. His first tine out as a Special he was BEST OF BREED and 3rd in Group under Edith Nash Hellerman. Under Judge Mary Nelson Stephenson, Bandit was BEST OF BREED at Vineland, New Jersey over a very impressive class of Specials.
